I am happy to say that I am officially a semester into university! I have been idle for quite some time now and that is due to the fact that I have been studying like mad for finals. Luckily, all of the stress of school is easing up and I am comfortably sitting in my home where I will stay for the next month or so. Even more exciting is that my sister is home from university as well. All is generally well and I have to say-I have definitely missed writing. There has literally been no time at all but that is about to change.
Fortunately, the holidays are creeping up on us and preparations are getting in order. The holiday season can be quite stressful on its own but I recommend just easing up and appreciating one day at a time. I notice that many people get wrapped up with buying family members presents and figuring out the menu’s for holiday parties and generally just spending oodles of money. Then before you even realize, Christmas is over and we’re back to our regular lives. I try not to get caught up in all the madness of the holidays and just appreciate being around family and friends and eating loads of lovely food and maybe even enjoy some snowy weather. Christmas doesn’t have to just be a stressful holiday that revolves around buying all fifty of your family members presents. It’s more of a feeling. The feeling of Christmas just excites me and reminds me that I should be thankful for my life because lets be honest, things could be a lot worse. I’m lucky to have a lovely and healthy family, wonderful friends, a home and to be attending an adequate university. All is well and this is the time to realize just how lovely the world is.
So, try not to worry as much about what to get your significant other. It’s only part of the holiday package. What matter’s more is taking the time to spend time together next to the fire, or even put up the tree and decorate it. Remember that the holiday season should be a feeling, not a chore.
Until next time(hopefully soon!)
